Immunoscience, Virology & Oncology M.D. Fellows Research Program

Bristol-Myers Squibb supports three Fellowship Research Training Programs in Immunoscience, Virology and Oncology therapeutic areas. These programs are key components of an ongoing and concerted effort by Bristol-Myers Squibb to advance research and understanding in the areas of Rheumatology, HIV/AIDS, chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV), and Oncology.


Please note that the application period for the 2012-2013 program has been extended to March 30, 2012.

Goals of the Program

  • Support studies that will further strengthen the science and knowledge of Rheumatology, HIV/AIDS, HBV, and Oncology
  • Support the development of future clinical researchers

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be an active Fellow accepted to or in good standing in an U.S.-based ACGME-accredited Fellows training program in the 2012-2013 academic year
  • Desire to enhance knowledge and skill development in the area of Rheumatology, HIV/AIDS, HBV, or Oncology research
  • Must identify a faculty member to serve as project mentor at the applicant’s institution

Enrollment and Funding

  • Fellows will be selected for the 2012-2013 academic year
  • Training grant awards up to $20,000 for Immunoscience and Oncology Fellows and $30,000 for Virology Fellows to support research-related expenses for a 1-year research period
  • Total training grant amount is inclusive of indirect costs and associated IRB fees and is not permitted for use towards travel to conferences or for durable equipment
